I’m a Golf Digest course rating panelist, and four years ago I visited several old friends in the Raleigh area. We played golf a few times. One course we played 4 years ago was Wildwood Green Golf Club. It was a nice course, but nothing special or nothing I remembered. I would have ranked it a 2 ½ Star course as far as course condition, playability, and guest services.
On my return visit in September my friends & I again played Wildwood Green Golf Club. WOW, what a difference four years have made.
I was greeted by a smiling PGA Golf Professional, Kevin Hamski, at check in. When I checked in with the Starter, I found out he also was a PGA Pro, and during our round we were greeted by the course Ranger, another PGA Pro. I later learned the club has 6 PGA Professionals on Staff.
I learned they hired a new green superintendent three years ago, and the golf course was in excellent condition. This green superintendent has done a remarkable job in improving the course condition. The fairways are full & emerald green, the putting surfaces have good speed & putt true, and the sand traps have been renovated.
Over the years while visiting friends on the east coast I’ve played several golf courses managed by the Carolinas Golf Group, and every course has provided our group excellent guest services with great value. It appears to be a positive growing Golf Brand.
I could continue sharing the fabulous golf day I experienced with my friends at Wildwood, and I think a few of them will join. The membership brochure I read shocked me at how affordable the monthly dues are. If I ever move east from Utah to Raleigh, I’ll join Wildwood Green.

Willis,
This a long over-due email... The golf course at Wildwood is in unbelievable
GREAT shape. With the dry, HOT weather we've had, I don't see how Rick and
his staff have managed to keep the course in this condition. The greens are
great... the sand traps stay raked, and the fairways are in better shape
than ever despite the dry, hot weather. The guys I play with are in total
agreement, regardless of whether or not they let you know or not.
The steps on number 4 are a real asset... three Chinese Boxwoods on each
side of the steps would look great and add to the beauty of the green. I
think the starters and rangers set up is working out great. They all seem to
handle their jobs well. One thing the rangers are doing that is a real asset
to the members and and guest is carrying ice and water in their cart,
especially during this extremely hot weather.
Willis, your staff in the pro-shop and snack bar are ALL and asset to the
club. Even YOU are doing a GREAT job. Keep us the GOOD work and thanks for
everthing..
Warmest regards,
Hilliard Green
Willis: I just would like to say that the course is looking and playing
great. The work you folks have done and the money you reinvested into
the course seems to be paying off.
I am also impressed with the quality of leadership your new staff has
achieved. It's always a pleasure talking to them and hearing their
opinion on equipment, and the general state of the game.
The new addition of Erica and Kelly show that you are truly needing and
wanting to improve customer relations and help the members with their
playing ability.
As I voiced by displeasures early in the year, it now allows me to
praise your efforts. I know there is more work needed but to this point
things are really looking up!
Besides paying my dues on time, if there is anything I can do to improve
my membership, please feel free to let me know.
So my friend, KUDOS to you and the staff at Wildwood.
Respectfully Yours

Willis and Rick,
I wanted to write a quick note thanking you for your efforts in getting the
course in the best shape I have seen since being a member. I know you have
made some investments in equipment that make maintenance on the greens and
fairways easier. Thanks much for reinvestment in the course. Thanks the most
for listening to your members and responding back by implementing some of
the suggestions for improvement. Very nice work gentlemen.
Mike Stanley
